Managerial decisions in today's turbulent business environment are characterized by uncertainty, multiple objectives and complexity. How to frame the problem and make effective use of various data and various types of information available? What factors to take into consideration to develop alternative decisions and analyse them? It becomes extremely important to integrate intuitive and logical attitudes towards risks, trade-offs among options and predictions of competitor's actions.
We will study various aspects of managerial decision-making process and building on analytical tools, concepts and techniques introduced in this course will improve decision analysis skills. No prior knowledge of decision making is needed for this course, except that which has been learned through experience!
This course also provides an advanced treatment of the analysis of real business situations with a heavy emphasis on analytical methods that are useful in decision making including along with some elements of quantitative analysis. The objective of the course is to equip students with decision-making tools that can be easily applied in their business careers.
